"Préludes" op. 15 for piano by Maurice Journeau

Maurice Journeau (+ 1999) composed numerous piano pieces. Among them, the "Préludes" op. 15 written during the year 1929 on the French Riviera, in the town of Nice, where he had to live for a decade. This free form allowed him indeed much more musical freedom and he enjoyed it. This is why he will return to this way of composition with his "5 Nouveaux Préludes" op. 19, but much later and in a totally different style.

The eminent lady pianist Hélène Boschi first performed the two of them at Salle Cortot in Paris on December 3rd, 1952.
